Open the web app

Getting started

You can be selling in about two minutes. This page takes you from installing the app to your first sale.

1. Install the app

Install LPG POS from Google Play on an Android phone. Open it. You will see the welcome screen.

2. Sign in

Choose one:

  • Continue with Google. Pick the Google account you use for your shop.
  • Continue with phone number. Type your number, tap Send code, then type the 6-digit code you receive by SMS.

Signing in is free. It protects your shop and lets you get your data back if you change phones. After the first sign-in your shop keeps working without internet.

Tip: Use the same Google account or phone number every time. Your shop is found by the account you sign in with.

3. Try the demo shop (optional)

On the welcome screen you can open a demo shop with sample customers, sales and stock. Everything in it is marked [Demo]. Use it to practise. It is only offered before you set up your own shop, and you can clear it when you are ready.

4. Set up your shop in three steps

The app asks you to finish a short setup before you can sell. It has three steps, and every step can be changed later in Settings.

  1. Business basics. Your shop name, address, city, phone number and currency. These appear on receipts and reports. The app can help fill in your address from your location if you allow it.
  2. Cylinder prices by kg. Type one price per kg of gas. The app works out the price of every cylinder size for you (for example 11.8 kg times your price per kg). The most common size is already added. Add other sizes only if you sell them. You can also set a lower wholesale price here.
  3. Opening stock. Tell the app how many filled and empty cylinders you have now, and set the level at which it should warn you that stock is low. You can add your first supplier here too. This step can be skipped for the supplier and completed later from the Stock screen.

When you finish, you land on the Home screen.

5. Make your first sale

  1. Tap the green + Sale button in the bottom bar.
  2. Choose the customer, or add a new one.
  3. Choose the cylinder size and quantity.
  4. Choose how the customer pays: Full Payment, Partial Payment or On Credit.
  5. Tap Save sale. A receipt appears that you can print or share.

You are done. The next pages explain each part in detail.

If you reinstall the app

Sign in with the same account. Your shop comes back from your account. If you used the app only offline before, make a backup first (see Offline and sync).
